About Lyptus®

Lyptus® is an eco-friendly natural resource.

Lyptus® is a naturally occuring hybrid of eucalyptus that is grown on managed forests in Brazil. All of the land (100%) on which lyptus® is grown was previously used for agricultural purposes (and barren of trees) that has been a-forested.

Lyptus® is grown interspersed with other trees indigenous to the region. This approach helps to preserve the region's native ecosystem as it provides for its own preservation and also helps to increase biodiversity.

Lyptus® is harvested after about 15 years. By comparison, true mahoganies are slow-growing, taking from 55 to 120 years to reach a commercially usable size.

Once a Lyptus® tree is harvested it quickly sends out the next generation without replanting or disturbing the forest floor.

The fast growing and re-generating qualities of Lyptus® mean that one acre of a plantation produces the same quantity of wood as 30 acres of unmanaged forests.

The Lyptus® wood used today on your Magna Desgn product comes from a tree that is already growing more wood. In 15 years it will be harvested again.

SKYBLEND PARTICLEBOARD

We offer an alternative material core for all of our products. 'Skyblend' particleboard core that is SCS certified 100% pre-consumer recycled wood fiber particleboard, that has no urea formaldehyde added during the manufacturing process.
Third party testing verifies Skyblend urea formaldehyde emissions (0.00 to 0.01 ppm) are no greater than levels occurring in outdoor ambient air conditions. Skyblend emissions compare favorably with agri-fiber products and wood based composite panels using MDI resin.

Leadtime is typically six to eight weeks.
