Leatherlam tests done June 2004

This testing is informational only and was not conducted in a controlled lab environment.
For additional testing data and specifications contact Pionite at (202) 925-1556 Ext. 2245.

Leatherlam surface laminated to 1-3/4” particle board

The following items or solutions were applied to the surface and left for a period of seven days:·

  • Hot coffee spilled on surface and left to dry
  • Hot coffee in a ceramic cup, brought to boiling temperature in microwave and set directly on surface and left to cool
  • Coca-Cola spilled on surface, the can was then used to form several rings from the spilled cola and left to dry
  • Paper cup of ice water left on surface, sweated water from the cup was left on surface and left to dry
  • Pledge lemon furniture polish was applied and wiped off. More pledge was applied and left to dry
  • Masking tape and scotch tape were both applied in 2” long strips, vigorously rubbed in and left to cure

After seven days all materials were removed and surface was cleaned with a mild solution of soap and water. Areas with the dried coffee and coca-cola were vigorously scrubbed with a paper towel.

When the Leatherlam was wet and as it dried you could see some shadow marks from the coke can bottom as well as the tape, coffee spill and un-wiped Pledge. There were no marks from the very hot cup of coffee or sweaty cold drink on the surface.

There was no sign of any of the materials tested after the surface had dried. The surface had returned to its original condition.
